UL has launched Product Lens™, a chemical disclosure tool that provides context and clarity for construction materials manufacturers, architects and designers to meet green building demands.
The demand for sustainable products is evolving. The Product Lens report helps communicate a product’s potential hazards to human health and the environment while simultaneously signaling trust and legitimacy to buyers demanding green products.
Green building programs are increasingly asking for transparency and ingredient disclosure, including LEED v4, which includes a Materials & Resources Credit requirement for chemical disclosure. Product Lens report was developed as a need to meet the LEED requirement, and to allow manufacturers to balance their financial and reputational risks, as well as offer product transparency and build trust with their customers.
