We are expanding our service capabilities in our Cabiate, Italy lab, and are pleased to announce the opening of a new indoor air quality laboratory.

With the increasing complexity of the regulatory landscape in Europe and around the world, there is a growing need for VOC emissions testing and validation. In an effort to meet growing demand and to offer customers comprehensive, responsive testing and other customized services, UL is pleased to announce the opening of a new indoor air quality laboratory in Cabiate, Italy.

This ISO 17025 accredited facility houses state-of-the-art dynamic environmental chambers used to test for VOCs emitted from products down to the parts per billion (ppb) level. The facility can conduct emissions testing on a wide range of products from furnishings to construction materials, and applied materials.

Today, customers can test to most key international standards including:

  • CDPH/EHLB/Standard Method V1.1 / V1.2
  • UL2821 GREENGUARD
  • ANSI BIFMA M7.1 / X7.1
  • ISO 16000-9
  • ASTM D 7339
  • ASTM D 5116
  • ASTM D 6007

The process of expanding our capabilities to European standards also continues, with focus on
EN 16516 and EN 717-1.

UL offers customized product emissions testing and solutions out of this office. Whether a manufacturer has health risk assessment, or product development needs to help ensure products are low emitting early in the process, UL’s Cabiate facility is home to some world-renowned experts on indoor air quality and VOC emissions.
